Have I mentioned this site is taking forever and a HALF to nail down like I’d like? Well it is.

The good news is I just finished taking the client login system that my good pal Joe Donahue and myself have been collaborating on and got it up to snuff. I started when I woke up yesterday morning, and just got done. I’ve literally done nothing but sleep for 4 hours and attend small group aside from working on this thing. I should eat.

In any event, if you have login information, hit up www.fireflyimageworks.com/client to take a look at the facelift! If you don’t have login information, but would really want your own unique login, let me know! I’m sure I can toss some art photos your way to view within it. Actually, it would just give me a good excuse to create the art print album I’m hoping to add to everyone’s gallery set. Fun times.

iPhone background created for Eikon's lenten season imaging.

iPhone background created for Eikon’s lenten season imaging.

Just spent the day finalizing the imaging for Eikon’s Lent teaching. The original job really only pertained to making a desktop background for those participating in lent as well as filming a spot of Doug Paul here in the studio and editing thereafter.

It resulted in my being inspired by the resulting desktop wallpaper and creating an entire mini-site around the video and the wallpaper download link. Check it out: www.eikoncommunity.org/lent

As a member of Eikon myself, I’ll be taking the fourty days to allow God space to refine and redefine me to be a little closer to what He had in mind as well. Something I’ve landed on is taking every 4pm-6pm to turn off my phone and concentrate on just being unencumbered and creative. I feel most alive when that spark that makes this stuff so much fun is in full gear, and I have a hunch that’s a place God wants me to find Him in. We’ll see how it effects biz and customer service though, eh? ;)

Hopefully this will lead to new and more interesting posts too, so… subscribe to the RSS feed. It could be a fun fourty days!

So, I think I may have finished this WordPress template. It seems pretty solid so far, but it’s certainly devoid of color. I’m hoping the as-yet-unadded photo reel in the upper corner will rectify that, but we’ll see.

If nothing else, this post marks the first use of the WordPress iPhone Application! Woooo-eeee! Blogging has never been easier on the go (not that I’ve done it before). If you’re reading this, then count it as one more reason this iPhone gadget is revolutionary.
So what do you guys think so far?

Well, I’m smack dab in the middle of re-making my own website from scratch, a (momentarily) fiscally irresponsible move on my part. Honestly, I’m writing this right now sheerly to act as some kind of content so I can see how my restyling of WordPress’s classic template is coming along.

But yea, business is going well. The ol’ wallet is suffering a little from the beginning of the year lull, but the past couple weeks have seen a boom in incoming work: awesome! That said, I’m not working on it and instead designing my own site: fail!

Still though, I hope this will be the site I’ve been needing for a long time. It’s tough, as a web designer, to have a website that you literally threw together in a couple hours representing you for two+ years. It’s just difficult to make the decision to put everything else to the side and concentrate on something new and more representative of what you can do. I digress.

I hope whatever this thing ends up being, you’ll all appreciate. And if somehow you’ve found yourself so enraptured by this blog to have lapsed back to read the very first entry, well… congrats! You’re in a special league of folks that I really didn’t think would exist. Especially considering I’m hoping to have a couple entries added by the time this thing goes live – and then it’ll be about figuring out what makes a blog significant to myself and to others while keeping in mind the site’s entire underlying function: publicity. Wish me luck!
